## Caption

Here is a rear-foot elevated split squat(RFESS). One performed with a slight trunk lean and lower leg not vertical. The other with a more vertical trunk and lower leg. Is one wrong? Both wrong? What do you think? Both of these variations of RFESS are perfectly acceptable to perform. The picture on the left highlights a more athletic posture while the picture on the right is usually seen during a regular exercise routine. The increase trunk lean and non vertical position of lower leg is seen in most sports. Athletes get into this position to move, change direction, etc..... Performing RFESS in this fashion will have more carryover for athletes of all ages. The more vertical trunk and lower leg position is still a viable exercise to help with strength, balance, and coordination. So, is one better than the other? That will depend on your goals and/or the goals of the athlete/client/patient. #CarryOver #SportSpecific #WhatAreYourGoals #SCS #PT #CSCS #NOVA #TransformSelf #TransformHealth #BDIFallsChurch
