A decaying oil tanker sits off the coast of Yemen.

The #FSOSafer is at risk of exploding or leaking at any moment, which could result in the fifth largest oil spill from a tanker in history causing a disastrous environmental and humanitarian catastrophe.

Any spill would destroy ocean ecosystems, and result in the loss of 200,000 fishing jobs and the closure of crucial shipping ports.

The #UnitedNations and partners are working on a plan to safely move the oil off the tanker and avoid a disaster.
