Coral reefs in the waters of Solomon Islands.

Coral reefs are essential to life on earth, as they protect coastal communities from storm waves, sustain a wide variety of marine species, provide sand for beaches and much more. Yet, these large underwater structures face several threats, from pollution to overfishing and habitat destruction.

The climate crisis is devastating the ocean, which is the planet’s largest ecosystem, generating 50% of the oxygen we need, regulating the climate & providing livelihoods for billions.

The good news is that each of us can take #ClimateAction to help protect the ocean:

🍴 Avoid single-use plastics & ocean-harming products.
🏖️ Participate in beach clean-ups.
🐟 Only eat seafood from sustainable fisheries.
📢 Help spread the word!

The #UnitedNations Ocean Conference in Portugal in June will focus on more solutions to #SaveOurOcean.
