Despite grave personal risks, the men and women #ServingForPeace with unpeacekeeping  around the world leave their families behind to protect the most vulnerable and help create the conditions for lasting peace. 

The Security Council decides on new missions and their mandates, which include supporting civilians, providing security for humanitarian aid, promoting human rights and much more. 

On Sunday's International Day of UN Peacekeepers, we thank them for their contributions to a more peaceful and prosperous world!
