Students enjoy a nutritious meal at a school in #Burundi.

Burundi is one of many countries around the world facing dire consequences due to the climate crisis. Ongoing droughts pose a severe threat to food security and put local farmers out of business while leaving families hungry.

Around the country, the worldfoodprogramme's (WFP) Home-Grown School Feeding Programme helps farmers increase the quality and quantity of food they produce and connects them with local schools. As a result, 635,000 children received a healthy school meals last year.

In more than 100 countries, WFP is working to support school meal programmes to help millions of children stay healthy and focused on their education.
