deepaprashad1’s #mybody365 ✨ “My insecurities began in high school and it almost seemed like a never ending cycle. I'd look in the mirror and wouldn't be happy with what I saw- everything to me was a disappointment from my body to my hideous braces. So I went through several phases from chopping off pretty much most of my hair to wearing some ridiculous clothes. This was a pretty tough time for me, and I kind of joke about it now but sometimes that feeling still lingers.
When I started university I landed a job as a TV host and now I'm the host of a well known Facebook page, so the more exposure I got, naturally my insecurities grew. In the media industry the first thing that you're judged by is your physical appearance- and that is a sad reality. I started to become really conscious of my body and conscious of what other people thought of me.
I would be lying to you if I said I'm 100% over my insecurities because I'm not. And I can't promise myself or anyone else that I ever will be. But I’m trying. Again working in this industry it is so incredibly hard not to compare yourself to other people, but I have learned to block the negativity out. I’m starting to learn to care less about what people think and care more about what makes me feel happy. Because of this I can say that I'm a lo more confident in myself than I ever was in high school.
So what makes me happy? What makes me happy is the immense support and love I get from my family, my friends, my boyfriend and coworkers who do nothing but encourage me to the best version of ME I can be. They encourage me to accomplish all my hopes and dreams and never lose faith in me even if I do. And these people have made all the difference in my life and I'm forever grateful for all of them.” ————————————
