REPOST from cpsda because we 🧡💙🧡💙 Rachel!!!
#GatoradeSNIP update with Rachel Leach 💥

Rachel is towards the end of the gatorade Sports Nutrition Immersion Program under the mentorship of the sports nutrition team at the University of Virginia. While thoroughly enjoying her time, some of her favorite experiences have been traveling with Women's Basketball and helping them fuel on the road, as well as helping fuel Field Hockey to the Final Four. Rachel has educated athletes on the importance of nutrition through hydration testing, body composition measurements, one-on-one counseling, and team education.

Spending the last few weeks working from home due to COVID-19, Rachel has had to be creative with outreach. The team of Sports RDs at UVA have been working together to provide their athletes applicable virtual education through social media and telehealth.

Originally from Charlottesville, VA, Rachel went to undergrad at Virginia Tech where she discovered her passion for sports nutrition through volunteering in their sports nutrition department. She continued to pursue her passion through the combined graduate and dietetic internship program at Appalachian State University. Awesome work #FuelingVictory, Rachel! gppartner
