🐒 Say hi to #CreateSpaceResidency artist Julia YH (_monkyi), also known as MonkYi. 

MonkYi is a Chinese-Canadian muralist and visual artist based in Toronto. She enjoys creating her work intuitively, focusing on styles of linework and bold colours belonging to surrealism and lowbrow art. 

🔭 As a natural explorer, MonkYi’s expressions are richly diverse and anthropological in nature, exploring different concepts, connections and perspectives. Elements of Chinese culture take root in her work as a reflection of her continuous journey of reconnecting with her heritage. 

🔆 We’re excited to see the vibrancy and boldness MonkYi brings through the residency with the Town of Oakville and STEPS.
