These pictures were taken almost 2 months ago, but posting now seems right on par for my life that currently feels like it’s in fast forward.

Looking at these, they feel like they were taken ages ago.
Rudi has WAYYYY more hair & it’s a lot more blonde now- she is double the size & Kyle’s terrible mustache is gone (thank God), but, I’m pausing for a moment & treasuring these photos tonight.

The photographer, my former student, very good friend whom I love very much & just so happens to be a crazy talent of a photographer text me the day we took these & asked:

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO REMEMBER ABOUT RUDI TURNING ONE; ABOUT THIS STAGE IN YOUR LIVES?

She wanted to freeze a moment in time for us so that when we looked back, we’d not just see, but FEEL how & who she was when she turned ONE.

Her dancing.
Her open mouthed kisses.
Her waves.
Her independence.
Her baby run.
Her love of the water.
Her fearlessness.
The way she makes everyone smile.

alexandmadi_ nailed those things by capturing these moments & I am so grateful for these images that help me pause when life is moving too fast.

Tonight I’m feeling grateful.
