I’ve been trying to think of how many of these throws I’ve seen and tossed to Aubree....
Thousands.
Thousands and thousands and thousands.
11 years of them.
3 PGF Championships, worth.
2 NCAA National Championships, worth.
The phone call: “I made Team USA,” worth.
World Championships, worth.
Pan Am games, worth.
Olympic Qualifiers, worth.
And today, there’s a chance you’re looking at the last time I’ll ever do it... the last time I’ll have this view.

In 2009, this lanky girl who had never thrown off her knees, came to my first-ever clinic.
It’s crazy the parallels we’ve had through our playing & coaching journeys.
People didn’t believe in us, didn’t understand our value; didn’t know our worth.
But we always kept working & we never stopped dreaming.
.
For the past decade plus we’ve grown alongside one another.
We’ve been each other’s biggest fans & loudest cheerleaders (okay, maybe I’m a little louder cheerleader😂).
We’ve experienced life’s lows, and we’ve celebrated the highest-of-highs, always together.

Today as she walked out the door on her way to the Olympic Trials, so many memories flashed through my mind,
but THESE ONES,
throw after throw, an empty warehouse, feeling out the kinks, making the adjustments, will ALWAYS be my very favorite.
