#SlugStories 🖼 🎨 Missing campus? So was first year cognitive science major Kayla Nguyen.
"Ever since I was young I’ve always loved art and it was a way for me to escape into a world of my own.  I honestly had no rhyme or reason as to why I drew this piece.  I was simply missing a place I loved so much.  While drawing this I felt as if I was revisiting campus and my favorite things about it. Due to COVID-19 I had to move back home and away from campus.  This made me really miss all of the things I love about UCSC.  In this time of solitude, I found a lot of time to reflect and cherish the things I once didn’t think much of.  So I channeled all of this emotion into a digital art piece compiled of all the things of what I thought makes UCSC what it is! I used the software Procreate on my Ipad Pro with an Apple pencil.  All of these are a great investment if you want to get into digital art/graphic design. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy through this difficult time!”
