#HumansofUCSC "At my internship at UCSC’s Treehouse Childhood Cancer Initiative I, along with another intern and our mentor, work on finding relationships between gene expression in cancers and the immunotherapies most suitable for specific cancer types...Prior to this internship, biomedical engineering has never crossed my mind as a career option. However, working on real research that has the potential to save people’s lives has really opened my understanding of genomics and biomedical research….I am privileged to spend my summer working with my mentor at Treehouse to further cancer research due to the fact that not every high school student has such an opportunity to explore a STEM career in such depth.”
