#SUMMERSPOTLIGHT 💎☀️

Next in our summer spotlight series is rising sophomore Cori Dannemiller (AC ‘22). Cori is spending her summer as a math teacher for rising 8th grade students in The Berkeley Academy program at the Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida. This eight week program serves children from the local community giving them access to more educational resources and to get them more excited for college! 

In her role, Cori teaches data analysis. She plans her own lessons, as well as making copies and grading assignments. She also is in charge of a family group (like a home room), and hers is themed around Rice University (hence her shirt in the pictures!).

About her experience, Cori said: 

“I have loved getting to teach the most amazing rising eighth graders. From all of the training we’ve had, I felt prepared, and I am learning so much about being a teacher. Planning and teaching my own lessons about math has been so rewarding, and I love that this is giving me a glimpse into my future! These kids are extraordinary, and they are going to change the world!!”
