Venice Police Department is looking look for boaters under the influence this weekend with partners from sarasotasheriff, myfwc and uscgsoutheast for #OperationDryWater 

Alcohol use is the leading contributing factor in recreational boater fatalities and a leading factor in recreational boating incidents. 

If you're heading on the water this weekend, designate a sober boat operator, check high and low tide times, verify navigation and anchor lights and VHF marine radio are operational, ensure each person on board has a properly fitting life vest, keep your up-to-date vessel registration in a dry accessible place, and have a fire extinguisher and a throwable device on board. 🛥
