One of my all-time favorite ways to transform a thrift find is with new upholstery. Here are my tips: 

1. Start with something inexpensive (getting an item professionally reupholstered will cost you at least a few hundred dollars, plus the cost of fabric, so lower your costs by using something inexpensive. And if you reupholster it yourself l, this is especially important because if you ruin a piece of furniture, you don’t want it to be one that’s irreplaceable). 2. Buy your fabric on eBay or Etsy. People often sell their leftovers so search for brands like Lee Jofa or Schumacher. 3. Add a custom pillow to make it completely your own. One of my favorite things about this chair is the long holster at the back which was completely custom.
