## Caption

Solo and Dave met at LA Smithtown when they reopened after COVID. Solo accidentally hit him with a pretty bad flagrant foul and never thought they would end up as friends. After repeatedly seeing each other at both Smithtown and Lake Grove, they have since teamed up and won multiple men’s leagues championships together. They also regularly hang out with their group outside of basketball.. going to BBQs, TopGolf, and bowling.

Why did they join the brotherhood? 

Solo: “I broke my hand over the summer and came to a 5am run to get back into shape. I realized a good amount of people I already knew were already on board and loved the vibes. I decided I wanted to join the league and got brought in by Mobb Deep.

Dave: “The league seems to be doing things the right way by people who care about Long Island basketball. They really brought together a lot of good competition and revived the local interest in the game.”

Question I asked Solo: “What is it like being able to have Dave as a friend and compete against him?”

Solo: It means everything. He’s a guy I may have never met if it weren’t for our mutual love for the game of basketball. We always talk shit to each other when competing but also play super well together when we are on the same team. He’s a great guy and his life story is very inspiring. That’s my brother for life! 🤞🏼

Moral of the story the 5ambrotherhood is a lot more than just basketball you are all welcome to join the brotherhood and we are just getting started!
