21 years. 

That’s 16 years of full-time service in the Australian Army, five years of full-time service as a Victorian Police Officer, and concurrently, five years of part-time service in the Army Reserve.

There’s no denying that Senior Constable Ronald Medcraft has an impressive resume. Moreover, he proves that pursuing what inspires you – in this case, service to country and community – should know no limits.

After a long career in the Army, including deployments to Timor Leste and Afghanistan, Ronald was in search for something with more stability. That search led him to Victoria Police, where he now contributes to the Greensborough community as a police officer.

His commitment to community remains strong, and it’s with his command’s support that Ronald continues to make a positive difference at Victoria Police and in the Army Reserve. “Having understanding command and with flexible transparent rostering I have had the opportunity to regularly parade and complete promotion courses.”

It goes without saying, Victoria Police hosts a diverse workforce. Our members, despite fronting what is already a challenging career, somehow in their spare moments continue to achieve great things.
