This week on Sammy’s Club corner we’re highlighting MECHA and CHALE ✊🏽📖💛

Second year UCSC student Elsie explains that MECHA is committed to the liberation of minds, bodies, and souls through educational, economic, and politcal empowerment. They believe that political involvement and education is the avenue for change in our society. CHALE is a needs-based retention program that is designed to respond to the students' social, academic, and cultural needs with the goal of keeping them retained on campus working towards their path to graduation 📚CHALE aims to support the Chicanx/Latinx student community at UCSC by providing a wide range of resources through events that help students develop skills or obtain information that will assist them to overcome some of the obstacles that their community encounters. Everyone is welcome! 💕🌟
