The Return of Anatolii Novopismennyi!

Team Ukraine will be competing classic and equipped, full power and bench only at The Arnold Sports Festival UK in September.

Anatolii Novopismennyi has been a dominant force in classic powerlifting for years. He was junior world champion back in 2016 and back to back open world champion in 2019 and 2021, also picking up the best lifter award at world 2021. He has current world records in squat and total in two weight classes and two age classes. Nominated in second place so far, he is still one of the biggest contenders for the 3,000 Euro first place prize money.

Tetyana Melnyk recently returned with a bronze medal from her fourth World Games in a row. She has been competing at the top level for 15 years, having won her first junior world title in 2007. Twice junior powerlifting world champion, three times open bench press world champion, Tetyana is the current world record holder in bench press and total and she will be competing equipped full power on the Friday and equipped bench press on the Sunday.

Danylo Kovalov, only a couple of years out of the juniors, also brought a bronze medal back from The World Games this month. Twice junior world champion, he still holds the junior bench press world record at 307.5kg. In Stavanger last year, he won his first open world title and made his mark as a force to be reckoned with. He will also be competing both full power and bench only.

Bench specialist, Ivan Chuprynko, is a multiple time bench press world champion, both in classic and equipped. He remains the only man to have beaten bench legend Daiki Kodama and their recent battles have been nothing short of epic. He was equipped best lifter at the bench press world championships this year and classic best lifter the year before and he is far and away the favourite to take the 4,000 euro first prize at the Sunday Bench Clash.
