After delivering a phenomenal performance as Cinderella in the Huron Players’ Cinderella Musical, senior Lizzie Stein reflected on her journey to playing the well-known role.

“It was a lot more athletically difficult than I was anticipating because there's a lot of dancing and singing at the same time,” Stein said. “Not to mention you had to wear masks because of COVID-19. And every single one of the dresses I wore had a corset in it. I was always strapped in and it was always a little bit hard for me to breathe fully.”

Nonetheless, she managed to overcome those challenges and put on an amazing performance.

“Just making sure that I was hitting the marks in every area like dancing and singing and acting is all a really big challenge but it was a really fun way to push myself,” Stein said.

Stein joined the Huron Players her freshman year, working on hair. Throughout the years, she engaged in increasingly more on-stage performances.

In addition to getting to make new friends from different grades, Stein’s favorite memory from the show was getting to meet all the kids who dressed up as princesses.

“I think that the impact that music can have on your life and your emotions and the way that you act shouldn't be overlooked,” Stein said. “And I think it's something that can really be used for good. It's a very positive thing. Being able to be that positive impact in someone else's life through the pieces and the way that I perform is something really special to me.”
