The Puncheon is considered the “heart” of what makes Yamazaki Single Malt, Yamazaki. With a capacity of around 480 liters, puncheons are large American oak casks that allow malt whiskies to mature slowly, imbuing them with a complexity and vibrance which highlights the underlying flavor of Yamazaki. The Yamazaki Puncheon has a clean, velvety, and mild taste with delicate butterscotch notes and a woody, subtly sweet finish.
