They worked with more than 60 youth and families about parts of a healthy community, including trees, creeks, arts, and outdoor activities. Participants shared in a park and creek clean up, explored and identified local trees in Oakland, and all kids received a free outdoor explorer backpack βœ¨βœ¨πŸ“šπŸ“šπŸŒΏπŸŒΏπŸŒΏAs part of the event, kids were invited to choose a book to take home from a beautiful array of children's books. ✨ πŸ“š Reminder: Important Info for Summer 2022: This year, we have access to a large quantity of new, high interest books to give to grantees. Grantees will be able to come pick out high quality, diverse and culturally affirming books from our office, and we will award up to $500 in action grants for accompanying activities. ✨ πŸ“š If you only need books, please apply and put $0 in the "Amount Requested" field. ✨ πŸ“š If you have other costs associated with your project (supplies, food, etc), please include a brief description in your application (a detailed budget is not required). ✨ πŸ“š Please specify if you have a particular book that you would like to purchase with the grant money (we can't guarantee specific titles on hand at the OLC office).
