## Caption

The soils on this project were strange at times. Some sagely advice from a veteran trail building "it looked like there was an issue 50 years ago, chances are it hasn't changed" While this seems like common sense its something to consider when you analyzing the terrain in the design phase. Ruts caused during logging operations can suggest poor soils.
