504-907, One-of-a-Kind

While a lot of my work is focused on the manifestations of people through buildings and material. I do not shy away from the documentations of people, whether culturally like in this image or just as a street photography expression of what I see. 

In some ways it maybe should be two-of-a-kind since the expressions of Mardi and Mushing only happen in select portions of the world. Although there is no visual similarity between the events, and for sure not weather similar. Each event, Mardi Gras and the Yukon Quest, feel similarly to me. The way the community comes out and lines up in anticipation. Waiting every few minutes for a musher to take off is eerily similar to waiting for the next float to come down St. Charles. 

Either way, I’m thankful to have gotten to witness and interact with both of events. They should be on everyone’s bucket list.
