Happy October! Today is the first day of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women in the United States, impacting approximately 1 in 8 women. Researchers have estimated that 300,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in the United States this year. Despite this, breast cancer survival rates have steadily improved over the last three decades, and many believe that this improvement is attributable to improved therapeutics, earlier detection, and increased awareness around the disease.
