*WALKING LUNGES*

#PHTNATION welcome back for another week of #FitnessFriday This week’s exercise we are doing walking lunges. 
Lunges have numerous benefits that can improve an athlete’s performance. Single leg strength, stability, and balance. Core stability and hip flexibility. Lower back and knee pain relief. Lunges are a great alternative to those who tend to only squat to develop lower body strength.

Step 1: Standing up tall, take one generous step forward. Not too long, not too short.

Step 2: Lower body down by bending both knees. Keep back straight by keeping your upper body upright.

Step 3: With the leg that is behind you, step forward to bring feet together OR take another step forward to do the other side.

Continue for any number of reps and sets. Personally, I’ve done a program where I’ve completed over 400 reps in a row 3x a week and my legs, knees, and lower back felt better and better each time I did it. It was hard, but your mind will give up way before your body ever will.
