Sal: Let's just say I was born to play and perform. I'm about to complete 30 rotations around the sun on this floating celestial rock and they've all been spent in some musical capacity. Ever since I could remember I loved listening to the radio and would get über excited when I'd see bands on TV playing with instruments and stuff.⠀

A lot of the music of my childhood growing up in Cashion, AZ,was bands from Mexico, either Cumbias, Rollas, Banda, Mariachi and Mexican pop music since my dad is from mexico. Also many of the pop artists from the 70s, 80s and 90s from my mom being from the USofA. I was so infatuated with the big bands of Mexico and the matching suits they wore, I always to dress the way they did and sometimes still do!⠀

I started playing drums at a really early age like 2 or 3. Grabbing whatever I could use for sticks and hit whatever I could to make noise. My first real drum kit came at the age of 7 and to this day I believe is the greatest gift (besides life) that I have received. At about 13 is when my interest in playing guitar started but didn't really put any effort till I was 15. My first bass at 17 and not much effort in that either till I joined Varkan! Haha ⠀

I was in school band from 5th grade till 8th grade and marching band all four years in high school. I started playing in garage bands at 15, super nervous since I had never "jammed" with other people before. Now it's like 2nd nature to me. Of all the bands I was in and out of our mouths wrote a lot of checks we just couldn't cash. Until I joined up with Varkan. ⠀

At first I was asked to be a fill in on guitar but since I suck at guitar and easier access to bass gear I ended up playing bass for a night haha! ⠀

Almost a year went by when I was asked to fill in again and soon after I was asked by my good friend John Hernandez if I was in the band, standing there coming up with something to say, Alec runs over and gives a resounding yes. ⠀
