On the 3rd of February 2023 Football Federation Australia put put a notice for all football clubs in Australia to put in Applications of interest for a Second Division. This League is designed  to create more competition for professional clubs & Player Development.

When the deadline came on the 6th of March 2023, one club for us stood out amongst the usual suspects we were expecting to apply from the NPL, was a club based in the heartland of Sydney’s Inner West City and that was Fraser Park.

A club based in Marrickville/Sydenham founded by Portuguese Migrants that has somewhat always been in the shadow of the APIA’s and Olympics. But one thing this club has, that might be different is the location of the club and that they’re unknown entity unlike Olympic and APIA. 

This gives them an opportunity to create a new face for the league and represent the modern day inner west of Sydney being a trendy hub of Culture past and present in Sydney but with a quirky spin linking lifestyle & football, or just simply a place to be.

Concept FC believes Fraser Park has the potential to promote itself as a face of the community beyond football being a club that can promote the regions diversity and embracing the modern inner west and also paying respects to the first persons on the region on Gadigal Land.

Another element of the club is its location. Only down the road from Sydenham train, it’s easy access for away supporters supporters in Sydney & for Interstate Supporters Sydenham Train Station is 2 stops from the Domestic Airport so it’s certainly easy access for a good away trip with access to bars and even brewery nearby.

If the club doesn’t get accepted the very least is that one of the clubs in Sydney makes use of its facilities with a great seated stadium along with the futsal courts that located next to the ground. It’s definitely a location a lot of local aspire to have to develop talented players and with changes to Australia’s transfer window, the club can capitalise on this venue to plant the seeds to nurture our stars in their early stages.
