## Caption

Gardens can be unpredictable and often end up producing way more than we need and use (tomato surplus from an employee garden - yikes!). Rather than tossing these tomatoes and extra produce into the compost, donate them to your local food pantry or food distribution agency. This is a great way to teach kids about reducing waste and also about the benefits of giving back to the community.

When you're planning for the next garden season consider looking into the Plant a Row for the Hungry Program or gardeners Garden to Give program to actively involve your kids and students in addressing food security issues in their community.
