Have you ever wondered what a day studying abroad in Spain looks like? Join Jade Gonzalez ’24, a rising senior majoring in neuroscience, as she shows us a sneak peek of one of her days in Trinity’s Madrid Summer Internship Program.

This 6-week program provides students with the unique opportunity of living with a host family in Madrid, going on field trips across Spain, and having an international internship in their area of interest. This experience helps students improve their language skills, explore the culture, gain professional insight, and learn about themselves. 

“My experience in Madrid has been amazing. I was so fortunate to have an internship at AFADEMA, an Alzheimer’s clinic in Madrid,” Jade says. “As a neuroscience major, this was such an amazing opportunity.” 

This year’s Madrid group, led by modern languages and literatures professor Rosana Blanco-Cano and finance professor Dante Suarez, also included Trinity’s president, Vanessa Beasley. 

“I was fortunate enough to sit at an intimate table with Dr. Beasley. It was amazing getting to ask her questions about herself and about Trinity that I had not known. It was so nice to see how interested she was in us and how much of an effort she made in getting to know us,” Jade adds.

The Madrid Summer Internship Program is one of the nine faculty-led study abroad programs taking place around the world this summer. Stay tuned to see where else our Tigers have been exploring!
