It’s Friday and we’re finally headed into a wedding-free weekend! June & July were a total barrage of one big event after another, and the team and I are so grateful to have a few days of rest and recovery. 

People don’t realize how much energy is poured into not only getting ready for event days, but the actual days themselves. Early morning set ups, 14-16 hour days on foot running around trying to make sure everything and everyone is in it’s/their place as scheduled. Keeping things moving behind the scenes once the event is in motion, trying to predict the weather, managing unforeseen obstacles, assisting event guests with their spontaneous needs, and then breaking it all down, packing it up, and putting it away just to get it all out and do it again the next weekend. 

Often times the above is done in outdoor elements with 90° sun (or hotter) beating down. And then comes Monday when our attention shifts to those who have been waiting to hear back while we’ve been away executing another client’s event. There’s not much time to stop and breathe, eat a meal or drink water (we’re lucky to get an occasional bathroom break). 

Wedding season is challenging to say the least. But at least we know what to expect (this is our 13th season making pretty things happen for those who trust us with their celebrations). 

So to finally have a little reprieve and a weekend that can be spent recovering, nurturing ourselves and spending quality time with family is a gift. It’s never truly enough recovery time, but we’ll take what we can get when we get it! #michelleleoevents
