When I was just a little kid probably 5 or so, the first time I ever watched wrestling was when I was over my uncle Alan's house and I asked him if it was real and he said yes. I was very skeptical, you mean to tell me these larger than life behemoths were really beating each other half to death? So I looked into it and I went to a local Hollywood videos and bought my first WWE dvd. From that point forward I was absolutely hooked. It was real to me, it was cool to me, it was just perfect. I started studying older wrestlers and I came across a guy named Rowdy Roddy Piper. There was something different about him. Guys like Hogan, Sting, The Rock, Stone Cold and Andre the Giant were all these huge gigantic men. Then there was Piper, he was kinda small, wasn't jacked, kinda looked like a dude you could meet at the bar. But he wasn't, he was better than all of them cuz what he lacked in size he made up for with his charisma and with his attitude. He had these wild eyes, he was a mad man and feared no one. He was a great talker and he could back it up. He was hated by thousands of fans for being a great bad guy. When I was a kid I didn't gravitate towards Hogan as everyone else did, I identified with Piper at the time I didn't know why now I do. He and I had so much in common. People don't like us because we're cocky. People don't like us because they expect us to just lay down since we're small. People don't like us because we won't let nothing or nobody get in our way from our goals. When I found out he died yesterday it really fucked me up. To me he was the best heel of all time if not the best wrestler ever. He made me believe in myself and not care about what others thought. I hope he's happy wherever he is and I don't care if this sounds ridiculous since I never met the man, but I hope I make him proud and give another kid who doesn't quite fit in, who isn't exactly wired right, and who doesn't want to be like everybody else a hero just like Piper was to me, he was superman!!!! #hotrod #rowdyroddypiper #hero #Wrestling #superman
