🗣 Asking athletes to rate their own pitches is and extremely powerful coaching technique (Especially on a day they are struggling, or failing to “feel” the adjustments they are trying to make). This drill in particular is a great way to blend the mind-body connection with a solid visual representation of what they felt on that good one.

What I did for this post was a simple video overlay (there are a ton of apps out there for this feature). I took Eric’s best throw and overlayed it on top of all 5 of his pitches. If you’re trying to replicate this video process here are a couple tips:

🔹Use a tripod
🔹Keep the camera rolling for all 5 throws
🔹Separate each throw in post-film editing
🔹Make sure each throw begins on the exact same frame
🔹Make sure each throw last the same duration of time
🔹Pick your favorite throw, duplicate it, reduce one of them to 50% opacity, and duplicate that clip five times
🔹Use the overlay feature to insert each of those duplicated clips over the original 5 throws
🔹Pick a Metallica song to play in the background
🔹Post it
🔹Follow me
