#MyClimateHero 🌍🐋 We're excited to introduce you to Nicole Horseherder, Diné (Navajo) and executive director of Tó Nizhóní Ání, who is on a mission to save precious water sources from industrial use. Twice a week, she drives 25 miles from her home in Hard Rock, Arizona to fill a 500-gallon tank from a community well because her home has no running water.

🏭 Horseherder's advocacy work recently led to the decommissioning and demolition of the Navajo Generating Station, which produced coal in the region. Now, her focus is on restoring ♻️ the land impacted by coal and ensuring adequate funds for the process.

🌍 In an interview with Fortune, Horseherder highlights the urgent need for a shift in mindset towards an Indigenous understanding of the value and relationship with water. With colonial use of water resources in the Southwest becoming increasingly destructive, it's more important than ever to adopt a holistic approach to water 💧management.
