Congrats to the Student Athletes of the Week, Dawson Tait and Colleen Eckl!

Tait from ritlacrosse was named the Liberty League Men's Lacrosse Tournament Most Outstanding Player after recording 11 points on seven goals and four assists in two contests last week, as RIT won its eighth straight league title. Wednesday, Tait tied his career-high with five points and added a pair of assists, as RIT knocked off St. Lawrence, 17-13 in the semifinals. Saturday, Tait led all scorers with four points on two goals and two assists in a 14-6 victory over Union. Tait is enjoying a breakout junior season with 35 goals, 28 assists and 63 points in 19 games.

Eckl from RIT Women's Track and Field broke a school record in the triple jump, leaping 11.36 meters to finish second in the event at the Liberty League Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday. She shattered Jess Calzolari's previous school record of 11.26 meters, set in 2017. In addition, Eckl was part of the 4 x 100-meter relay team that finished fourth with a time of 50.90 seconds and 4 x 400-meter relay quartet that recorded a third place finish, crossing the finish line in 4:02.21. She also placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, finishing in a time of 1:00.70.
