Congrats to the Student Athletes of the Week, Dempsey King and Torie Adler!

King from RIT Wrestling the No. 7 seed at 165 lbs., earned runner-up honors at the 2019 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship. On Friday, King defeated Nick Renke of Coast Guard, 10-4 and knocked off No. 2 seed Taylor Shay of Roger Williams, 3-2 in overtime in the quarterfinals. King took on Nicholas Bonomo of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the semifinals Saturday morning. King would get an early takedown and then punched his ticket to the championship by getting the pin just 1:45 into the match. King took on top-seed and defending champion Lucas Jeske of Augsburg in the championship bout and put up a tremendous battle before eventually going down in defeat, 6-2. King, who made his second trip to the national tournament, finished the 2018-19 season 27-6 and is 77-23 in three seasons.

Adler RIT Softball made four appearances on the mound and won both of her starts, allowing just seven hits in 14 innings of work, recording a 1.00 earned run average. Saturday, Adler allowed just one hit in five innings to pick up the win as RIT shutout Western Connecticut State, 2-0. Sunday, she gave up three hits and one earned run, while striking out five batters in a win over Blackburn. She also threw three strong innings of relief later in the day versus Martin Luther.
