Linda Dillon has had the privilege of watching her five sons grow up immersed in building with a shared love of cars. This shared passion resulted in three remarkable Factory Five kit cars, each with a unique story.

“Our journey began when my son, Tim, took a trip to Massachusetts in 1998 to acquire our family's very first Factory Five kit car. After a year of dedication emerged a royal blue Factory Five Roadster. Tim's car featured a 331 Stroker engine with a Centrifugal Supercharger. He took pride in driving this car daily, racking up over 100,000 miles since its debut. Tim’s build influenced his brothers to embark on their own Factory Five builds.

The second car held deep significance, paying tribute to our beloved son, Ben, an Army Ranger. He heroically intercepted a car bomb intended for his detachment of fellow soldiers returning from a successful mission, earning him the Bronze Star with valor. Ben’s prized 1989 Mustang was stolen during his deployment and found wrecked. It served as the donor for his brother Terry's Factory Five MK3 Roadster, and was a labor of love for Ben’s brothers and father. Thanks to the artistic touch of his older brother, Bill it was painted in Shelby GT500 Torch Red and airbrushed in tribute to Ben.

Our eldest, Denny, continued the legacy in 2022 by building a Factory Five Type 65 Coupe using Ben's 2004 Mustang GT as the donor. Ben's memory was woven into the fabric of this car with seats from his Mustang, and its 302 engine was enhanced. The result was a powerful and visually stunning tribute to Ben.

These Factory Five kit cars are a testament to our family's love and a way to ensure that Ben's sacrifice is never forgotten. We proudly display them at shows and parades, preserving his legacy.”
