Best pad thai ever? You can feel the wok hei in the eggs, it’s a pad thai that has been through trial by fire, with prawns that are meatier than John cenas biceps. absolutely special dish of the classic staple. Worth getting lost in an alleyway to get there. Pad thai, check. padthaifaitalu 

Our taxi driver drove us to the wrong side of town, just when I was about to fight this man, we realized we actually accidentally ended up near the classic Jae gee chicken aka polo fried chicken. The driver got lucky this time. Each plate of chicken comes with a big dish of fried shallot/garlic crisps, it’s like a crunchy roll with tempura batter but this, this is the best aromatics in the world. I can just eat the fried bits by the spoonful with a cold bottle of singha. 

Yaowarat - the famous boulevard of dreamy street food. It’s hard to choose one but we were sucked in by the cloud of grilled seafood smoke. These are the massive river prawn with the blue claws that I’ve only seen on YouTube travel shows. They sell it by the kilo, grill it on a bed of charcoal while the wok guy engulfs the morning glory in a fireball that lights up the night. charcoal grill and wok hei might be the best combo since Sonny and Cher. The shrimp and it’s head butter was as good as it looks but the morning glory was the real star. You can taste the fire but it somehow is not burnt at all, the roots are crisp but not stringy and the flavor is just right that I did not dare to use one drop of the 5 different condiments they gave us. #faikeaow
