Virginia Democrats did not waste any time in rallying around Kamala Harris in the first hours of her historic campaign to become president. 

As news broke on Sunday that President Joe Biden was ending his bid for a second term in office and endorsing Vice President Harris, Democrats from across Virginia rushed to commend Biden’s decision and pledge support for Harris. 

“His decision today reflects the same patriotism that George Washington and Teddy Roosevelt demonstrated when they selflessly put their country above their own political ambitions,” said Sen. timkaine in a statement.
