🌆🔭 This is one of my favorite photos that I’ve captured in LA and it happened during early 2017, not long after I transitioned from iPhone only into being a full time Sony Alpha shooter. Following many years of hiking the trails at Griffith Park and countless visits to the observatory for sunset shoots, I went on a mission by myself one night to see if I could find a unique perspective for a photo. With my A7R II camera and 24-240mm telephoto lens, I made my way up a path that leads to a higher view as the sun set over the Pacific and the city lights began to sparkle. A layer of February fog rolled in and I carefully lined up my tripod with the perfect symmetry of the building that I’ve always admired. Trying my best to get the statue in front of the Observatory to line up with the vertical street I discovered in the distance, I snapped away while making tiny adjustments each attempt. Shooting in low light was still a new skill for me, so I tried my best experimenting with longer shutter speeds and different apertures until the color had faded. I’ll never forget how La La Land was glowing and how the stars aligned for me that evening.✨ Paradise
