UPMC is proud to honor the military members who serve our nation. We thank all veterans for their courage and sacrifice. This week, for #VeteransDay, we're sharing some of their stories.

Jane Thomas, nurse manager at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, served in the Air Force from 1988 to 1992. A medic stationed at the Yokota Air Base, Japan, Jane worked in the labor and delivery unit and the newborn nursery while also playing basketball for the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF). During the Gulf War, Jane served in support of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm for the 655th Tactical Field Hospital. After her service, she immediately enrolled in and completed nursing school and today provides care and support for our UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital community. Thank you, Jane, for your service. #airforce #airforceveteran
