Happy #NationalParkWeek! It’s Youth Engagement Day! Today is the perfect date to get involved. It’s not too hot. Not too cold. We do recommend a light jacket. 

Want to be a wildland firefighter, a biologist, a trail-builder, a museum curator, a visual information specialist, a park ranger, or anything else you can think of? Astronaut? Well, maybe more Earth-based missions. There is just about every kind of job in the National Park Service! 

Thousands of youths and young adults learn, play, grow, and work at our more than 400 national park sites through npsyouth. These include national battlefields, national monuments, national recreation areas, national seashores, and many more. 

Get involved through education programs, volunteer service, paid internships, fellowships, and entry-level positions. Opportunities include Junior Ranger Programs, Girl Scout and Resource Stewardship Scout Ranger Programs, the Youth Conservation Corps Program, Traditional Trades Advancement Program, National Park Service Volunteers-In-Parks, jobs with service and conservation corps programs, and everything in between.
