Did you know Roseate Spoonbills get their pink coloration from the foods they eat? You are what you eat. Go ahead and put another shrimp on the barbie, please. Crustaceans and other aquatic invertebrates contain pigments called carotenoids that help turn the spoonbill’s feathers pink.
