If you’re cold, they’re cold. Bring them in! 

Wait. They’re already in. Kidding, kidding. But don’t bring them in. 

Go camping, they said. You won’t wake up to arachnids crawling all over your tent, they said. Camping in the remote depths of Lake Clark’s vast, wild landscape can be an amazing experience. Just ask the daddy longlegs. Why the cluster? Groups of daddy longlegs sometimes form thick clusters called aggregations. This behavior is common among these leggy creatures, but there’s no straightforward explanation for why they do it or why they chose your tent. Some researchers speculate that aggregations form for mating, humidity control, or to deter predators. One thing scientists do know is that this behavior occurs more often in autumn when the weather is dry and days get short. Daddy longlegs are prone to drying out, so clustering together allows them to create an environment to maintain body humidity. For the record, daddy longlegs are not venomous and pose no threat to people whatsoever. Probably best to keep them outside. Sleep well!
