Joshua Tree’s many species of cacti are a beautiful sight, especially when lit up by the setting sun – the teddybear cholla (Cylindropuntia bigelovii) is shown here at the Cholla Cactus Garden. But don’t let your guard down around them! It’s all too easy to brush up against a cactus in this environment and get yourself into a “prickle.” ⁣

We’re learneding! Keep your wits about you and look up, down, and around while visiting the park to make sure you’re not about to run into something spiky! ⁣(Good advice for plant, animal, or temperamental hiking partners.)
