It's #GreatAmericanOutdoorsDay!

It's a great day to get, well, outdoors. Oh, it's hot where you are? It's raining? You don't like the outdoors? We have cool indoor spaces. It's like the outdoors only indoors. You'll have to go outdoors (just for a bit) to get to the indoors. You know what we mean. You just walked to the mailbox? Mailed it. 

Moving on, today we are commemorating the third anniversary of the #GreatAmericanOutdoorsAct (#GAOA), signed on August 4, 2020. The legislation established the National Parks & Public Lands Legacy Restoration Fund & guaranteed permanent funding for the Land & Water Conservation Fund. The Great American Outdoors Act is funding numerous projects that will have a lasting impact on conservation and enjoyment of parks and public lands.

Image 5: The Moraine Park Campground and Utility Restoration Project is underway at @rockynps. Funded by the Great American Outdoors Act, the #park is working to replace and repair aging water lines and upgrading the park's water treatment plant. 

Image 6: GAOA funding has allowed for large-scale infrastructure projects and historic preservation activities including the Great Hall and Kitchen roof repair project at @grandportagenps 

Image 7: The First Bank of the United States is receiving a $22.2 million investment from the GAOA Legacy Restoration Fund. The iconic building in @independencenps will undergo an extensive rehabilitation in advance of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
