They say distance makes the heart grow fonder. Distance also keeps you grounded. (Like on the actual ground.) So remember, when it comes to being around wildlife, long distance = #RelationshipGoals. ❤️

🦬 You know me so well!

Did you know you can judge a bison’s mood by its tail? (Someone’s moody today.) When the tail hangs down and switches (swishes?) naturally, the bison is usually calm. If the tail is standing straight up, watch out! A confrontation may be brewing. No matter what a bison’s tail is doing, remember that wild animals can be unpredictable. Always be aware of your surroundings, especially if any animal moves toward you. (They’re probably not coming to ask for directions.) 

🦬 I just need more space. 

Space is good. Always give animals room and use your zoom. Remember, bison may be big, but they’re also fast. They can run up to 35 mph. Can you? Plus, they’re extremely agile. Bison can spin (you should see them in class), jump a fence, and are even strong swimmers. If it weren’t for their poor peddling (see spin class), they’d probably enter more triathlons. #TheMoreYouKnow

🦬 It’s not you, it’s me. 

Let’s be real. It’s probably you. It's natural to want an explanation for what went wrong in any engagement. Well, maybe you got a bit clingy, a tad confrontational, and they informed you they weren’t into selfies. You know, sometimes you’re just both at the wrong place at the wrong time. It happens.

Unfortunately, you may never get solid answers on why a fleeting relationship went south, but if that ends up being the case, you just have to take a deep breath, back away, and focus on keeping that safe distance until things cool down. And remember, there are always much easier ways to earn frequent flyer miles than by getting too close to a wild animal.
