Tarantulas give some people the creeps because of their large, hairy bodies and legs, but these spiders are harmless to humans. Be the bigger person and if offered, take the brochure. 🗺 🕷

In Arizona, tarantulas prefer living in well-drained and dry soil, located in open areas in the desert and grassland areas. They start to emerge during monsoon season but tend to stick close to their underground burrows. The only time they venture away is when they are in search of a mate. It can take around seven years for a tarantula to reach maturity and mate, so if you see one away from its burrow, it's been waiting a long time for a night out on the town.
