Do you like to read? Good with kids? Then “Read to a Goat" for National Literacy Month! You herd it here first. Beginning September 1, a red wagon full of books by Carl Sandburg will be available at the entrance to the barnyard and pasture @carlsandburghomenhs. Carl Sandburg loved reading aloud to his family, friends, and audiences (probably some goats) across America. In this spirit, visitors are invited to borrow a book or bring their own, then find a comfortable spot to read aloud to the park’s goats. What if they don’t like my book? Meh! Whatever floats your goat is what we say. ⁣

The barnyard and pasture are open daily from 10 am to 3 pm. ⁣
⁣
