We’re celebrating the end of 2023 with a look at the most popular series among IMDb fans worldwide 📺Catch the top 10 below and check out the full list 👉 https://t.co/PP7c05LzJf
1. The Last of Us: #TheLastOfUs quickly became one of the buzziest series of 2023, making Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey STARmeter superstars. Showrunner Craig Mazin, along with writing partner and original video game creator Neil Druckmann, also brought supporting cast members into the spotlight, including Anna Torv, Melanie Lynskey, Storm Reid, Nico Parker, and of course, Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett. The series was renewed for a second season at Max, and is based on the sequel game, ‘The Last of Us: Part II.’

2. Ahsoka: Weekly episode drops kept #Ahsoka in IMDb's : throughout Season 1. Although Rosario Dawson ascended our chart for the first time since appearing in 'The Mandalorian'. Mary Elizabeth Winstead was the series' breakout star. A deleted tweet promoting the “series finale” unofficially announced Season 2, though it'd be a shock if the franchise-stabilizing series was over.

3. Succession: The fourth and final season of the hit series #Succession not only made the show one of the top titles on IMDb, but it also secured the highest-rated season during the show’s run with a whopping 9.2-star season average (thanks in part to the 9.9-rated episode ‘Connor's Wedding’). Watching the sibling rivalry between Kendall, Shiv, and Roman play out as they jockeyed for control of their father's media empire was just as toxic as it was entertaining.

4. Black Mirror: After a four-year hiatus, Netflix’s eerily prescient sci-fi satire returned for a sixth season in 2023. Series creator Charlie Brooker took viewers everywhere from deep space to the fictional Loch Henry, but it was the season opener ‘Joan is Awful’ — about a woman whose life is turned into an antagonistic streaming series — that received the highest marks on IMDb with a 7.4 rating.

5. The Mandalorian: Although Season 3 received mixed reviews, the show's popularity and a bevy of cameos — including Jack Black, Lizzo, Christopher Lloyd, and Ahmed Best, and more — helped #TheMandalorian stay in the top four MOVIEmeter slots for its eight-week run. The season ended on a high note, with the final two episodes earning the highest IMDb ratings of the season and wrapping up series-long storylines with emotionally satisfying endings!

6. One Piece: Fans from around the world showed up in full force for the live-action adaptation of the beloved pirate-adventure manga and anime series, breaking Netflix's all-time record for top concurrent viewership across 84 countries and holding the top MOVIEmeter spot for three weeks. It didn't take long for Netflix to respond to the success, with creator Eiichirô Oda sharing news of a Season 2 renewal two weeks after the premiere.

7. The Fall of the House of Usher: If you're a sucker for dark, twisted tales, then we've got just the show for you! Adapted from the works of Edgar Allan Poe, the series follows the journey of a brother-sister duo who go from humble beginnings to ruthless capitalists. This Netflix hit sat on the Global top ten list for a month straight and had the talented Carla Gugino soaring to the top of the STARmeter charts!

8. Ted Lasso: With 11 Emmys under its belt, the final season of #TedLasso came with high expectations. Although Season 3 received mixed critical reviews, IMDb fans showed AFC Richmond their love, keeping the optimistic comedy series in IMDb's top ten titles for an impressive three-month streak.

9. The Bear: IMDb fans were outraged when #TheBear didn’t make this list in 2022, but a stellar second season ensured that it wouldn’t happen twice! When FX launched Season 2, viewers were hungry and waiting, keeping it in the top ten for 11 weeks. New episodes brought key characters out of the back-of-house and into intimate focus, driving the highest ratings for the series thus far. And if you didn’t know, the network ordered up a third season to return in 2024.

10. Gen V: #GenV had fans returning to IMDb week after week, putting the show into the top ten for seven consecutive weeks. It’s difficult to pinpoint which moment made this show such a hit: Was it Little Cricket fighting gerbils? Sam’s underwear pantomime? That *explosion*? Maybe the cameo? Whatever drew viewers to this delightfully sick spin-off series, the results spoke loud and clear, with the show reaching number one on Prime Video in a whopping 130 countries and getting a second season renewal before the finale had even aired.
